Storybook Favorites

Rakasha Stone Magazine

I truly enjoyed this storybook because of its originality. I found the idea of being a magazine that represented Rolling Stone for music was clever. At first I didn't catch on to be honest, but once I read the introduction I realized what was going on and I found it pretty entertaining. By incorporating the stories into a music review magazine I think the topic is clear once you dive into the introduction.  The design of the introduction and the overall storybook was simple yet not boring which I thought was nice. I found the images used to be perfect and overall the Introduction did a great job of grabbing my attention and making me want to read more. I like how there is a link to all of the posts and the images are at the center and beginning of each of them. I think this would be something I might use myself.

How I Met Your Mother

I couldn't help but like this one because I am a big fan of the show How I Met Your Mother as well. I thought that the introduction was very organized and let the reader know immediately the strategy of telling stories with its theme. I liked how simple the layout was for this one as well and how large the images used were. I think it is important to make the images a head attraction because it gives the reader a better idea of what to imagine. I like the idea of using a famous TV show to incorporate new stories, I think it could be a great possibility for me.

I got this image from Rachel Cunningham's Blog. It is an image of  King Shantanu meeting Ganga which she got from  Vintage Fine Arts Prints but added her own title to it.

CSI: Indian Epics

Along with the other two storybooks that I chose, this one grabbed my attention from the beginning. As I said earlier, I like the idea of using a famous TV show to incorporate stories. I think this one had the best layout in terms of design. I thought the theme of notebook paper fit perfectly with everything that was described in the introduction. I also really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this storybook being a diary. I think that the topic along with the introduction made me want to read more by being somewhat brief in nature, but yet it still gave me somewhat of an idea of what was to come. I could see myself trying to reel in the reader in this manner.

  1. The TV show possibilities are so much fun, and there's another HIMYM project from this class that might give you some fun ideas too; I thought it was fabulous: Barney's Blog: How to Be Awesome

  2. I think that the TV show idea is a great one too, Gavin. I also agree that the CSI: Indian Epics one had a really easy to use layout. I also love crime shows, so that drew me in. The fact that it is a diary is also really cool. I hope I can come up with something as creative as the past students in this course have.
