Ramayana: King Janaka
I normally really enjoy stories like this one because I like the idea of competition. I also was familiar with the principle of this story and hope to find more stories that I'm familiar with the topic. I truly enjoy different versions of stories I already know because it will make me want to create my own version but in a different manner. I think the Ramayana as a whole should be pretty interesting and I'm excited to read it for the next few weeks.
Comic Books: Heroes/Heroines
As I stated earlier I probably wouldn't want to necessarily go to the library, yet these seem very interesting to me. I feel that I would enjoy reading these comic books because I used to read some Marvel comic books as a kid. One that grabbed my attention was Harishchandra: The King Who Chose Rags Over Riches. Who doesn't love a good moral story? I think that if you added more comic books online this would be a very good option for me.
I got this image from Flickr because I used to read a few Spiderman comics back in the day. |
Folktales
I loved all of the folktales last semester, when I took the Mythology & Folklore class so I feel I would like to continue reading these styles of stories. I think that when animals teach a lesson or a moral it is very entertaining so these grabbed my attention. If they are a different style of some of the stories that I read last semester, I think that it would be interesting to read different versions of these styles of stories as well.
