Learning Challenge: Attention Video

Alike

I chose to pick an attention video this week which honestly might have been my favorite assignment yet this semester. I watched the short animated video Alike. The video has no words but instead shows a child who wants to be original and who appreciates originality alongside a Dad who is stuck in the motions due to a system that makes people this way. The dad is only happy when he is with his son because his son is original, but he realizes that with time the system of school and what not is making his son more like him... alike everyone else. The dad then decides to be original on his own which sets the fire back into his son.

I really enjoyed this video because it made me think about myself and how I'm happy when I'm with the one's I love being original. This video kind of confirmed what I have been feeling lately about how life shouldn't be a set standard of being ready to work and do things by a certain time and that people live life differently. What this video might have made clear to me or something new would be the fact that our own happiness makes our loved ones happy as well and when we are getting down it brings them down as well. If I could try and explore anything right now it would be finding a way to be happy myself doing something I truly want to do as well as pursuing my goals and future. I know this doesn't necessarily make sense but I guess I want to try to find things that balance out the goals I have which may be somewhat systematical with doing things that keep my originality as well. I think I might try to somehow find a way to get a new hobby like making music or something I haven't tried before. I fully support watching this video if one feels like they are just going through the motions sometimes.

I chose this image because it shows an egg standing out which this video supports. I found it on Pixabay.
